Nathan has been involved in interactive design and development since 1995. He used early multimedia packages as an alternative delivery method to print, while working on his Higher National Diploma, and presented final concepts on screen rather than on paper.

After landing a job as a junior at a local print agency Nathan soon found himself in at the deep end when the agency blagged the contract to produce the Virgin Global Challenger web site for Richard Bransons round the world hot air balloon attempt. However he managed to swim pretty well actually, and played an instrumental role over the next 4 years in establishing Designation as a well respected creative solutions provider for small to medium sizes Businesses.
During his time at Designation Nathan spoke at a conference in London, to company directors from the Virgin group, on the benefits of the web in business. He also produced interactive work for clients such as Nortel, Agfa and Yellow Pages.
While at TMB Marketing & Communications Nathan evolved his motion design skills, gained through work with products such as Macromedia Flash, and produced and art directed a number of short video pieces using tools such as Adobe After Effects.
At Mirashade Nathan continued to develop his new media skills, adapting to new programming and database langauges such as PHP and MySQL, and assisting in the design and development of a Content Management System used to deliver sites such as grownupgreen.org.uk.
After a short stint at a local creative agency (Bite CP) as Head of New Media, Nathan finally bit the bullet and decided to ‘go it alone’ setting up his own new media agency ‘Nine Four’.
Unlike so many other designers/developers Nathan continues to maintain a clear focus on creativity throughout the lifetime of a project and strives to ensure that everything he does delivers both technically and creatively.
In addition to his work commitments Nathan spends much of his free time acting as an advisor for the Macromedia Fireworks software development team, and also maintains an active role in the design & development community through this very site.
Nathan has a excellent understanding of the business issues and goals which form an integral part of any creative solution, and enjoys nothing more than being able to deliver a solution which not only looks great, but adds real ‘business’ value for the client.
